If museums are on your list of things to see, you might want to browse the collections at Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. Hotels.com travelers also love the art galleries in the area— your cultural tour starts here. If you want to see more of the museums in Astoria, SculptureCenter isn't far either.

Beneath Manhattan's shadow, this Queens neighborhood serves up a cultural feast rivaling its famous Greek cuisine. The Museum of the Moving Image celebrates cinema with interactive exhibits bringing film magic to life. Astoria Park offers spectacular views making Manhattan seem within reach. Steinway Street buzzes with family-owned bakeries and restaurants where locals debate which souvlaki joint deserves neighborhood loyalty. Actors flock here (they call it 'Actoria') for affordable apartments and studio proximity, giving sidewalk conversations a theatrical flair.
Great! 15 minute walk to the train. Quiet neighborhood (for NYC). Lots of yummy, convenient food options along the way. Traveling with my teen and we both felt comfortable. I’m an ex-New Yorker and lived in Queens, so I’m familiar with the city. I would book here again.
This is a well maintained property in a safe walkable part of Midtown East. I would def stay here again (I'm tri-state and travel to the city often). One note for non-tech folks, there are no room keys, it's all done on your phone through an app. I've stay at hotels where this was an option, but for this hotel it is the only option. This does allow you to set everything up before arrival (maybe after you have stayed a few times), having said that there was a staff member there to help me through...
Great location! Great restaurants nearby! Comfortable beds. It would have been nice though if a little birthday card or something was put in my room! Other than that you cannot go wrong staying here and I’m planning to again!
We enjoyed our two night stay at the Romer's. We came in on the subway from JFK, and it was about 1 block walk from the subway station. We came to eat food and see the museums, and Hell's Kitchen is ground zero for foodies! We found great places to eat within a 15 minute walking distance. Two things we didn't prepare for. We came to NYC with practically no cash, as we had just come from a recent trip to Europe, where everything is cashless. Tips are still paid in cash in NYC in many...
Loved everything about our stay at the Broadway Plaza Hotel. Front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful as were their two security/doormen. Hotel was nice, room was clean and spacious for our family of 6, beds were very comfortable, and it was located in a very good location. Subway and restaurants were within walking distance, area is busy day and night but we slept without any disturbances. Highly recommend and look forward to our next stay here!
Travel to NY often. The Arlo always is a great stay. Clean, smells amazing, good vibes, friendly/stylish staff, great decor, reasonably priced. Just do it. Stay here. Perfect for solo travel.
I'm a regular at Pod 39 when I come to NYC by myself. It's very minimalist and if I was planning to spend more time in my room, I'd go elsewhere, but exactly what I need when I'm in the city to see shows and check out some exhibitions. Always clean and my room is always ready when I arrive (which has not been my experience at other NYC hotels).
The only problem I had was the staff complained when I brought Dunkin Donuts coffee from across the street into the lobby. I’m sorry but when I’m spending $4,000 for a trip I feel like I can get my coffee from anywhere I please They kept saying no outside food or drink
