Pleasant staff. Free use of snow shoes and sleds. Cute cozy cabin albeit it became too warm and the heating was centralized so I had to crack open a window to feel comfortable in bed. Great access to beach which had a ton of snow when we were there.
Great location right in the village. Large room with all amenities. Actually too big for just a couple. You feel like a timeshare owner here without all the commitments. Way better than a standard hotel room. We will be back.
From the outside looks like a run down hotel until you get into the room very nice. Very family oriented. Pool & Gaming area’s. Nice that there is access to the Lake Shore.
Truckee Donner Lodge is, without a doubt, the most pleasantly surprising hotel I've ever stayed at. Recommended by a friend, I was initially skeptical about its 3-star rating. Great location- walk across the street to get to bike trails and beach access. Hotel is cute with lots of rustic reclaimed wood and nice decor. Had great wine and watched Monday night football at Uncorked with some friendly locals. Only minor downside is showerhead was from about 1976 so the shower experience wasn't as great as I assumed it would be with all the other uogrades and attention to detail
This is a hotel with a casino in it. My son wanted to play casino games before a day of snowboarding. It was clean and recently updated bathroom. Very comfortable beds. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the dimly lit room. There were canned ceiling lights that had covers more appropriate for aiming at hung pictures. There was only one table lamp with a black shade. One of the two bathroom mirror’s lights weren’t working. For one night it was ok but very overpriced.
Room was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Customer service was excellent. The ease of the PIN code for the door and the text updates were helpful. Highly recommend and would stay here again!!!

The stay at Welk Northstar was amazing! They supplied just about everything you need from kitchen to laundry room & bathrooms of course. It was just my husband and myself in the two bedroom villa and it was so beyond spacious! We stayed during off season so if you are wanting to enjoy the village it is very sparse. We only went down to Starbucks and cooked our own food so for us it wasn’t a problem. The only thing I wish they would change are pool hours, we’re early birds and 9am is kind of late...
We loved our little lakeside studio! It's about 100 steps from the front porch and we're on the beach! The full kitchenette was great and the nearby Safeway meant we were able to save $$ on food. It's still off season and we came in the midweek, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. This hotel also had a private pier, and we walked out there on our first night and sat on the bench just taking in the peace and beauty of the lake.

When we went to go check out our suite, WOW what a surprise. Full kitchen, no need to bring anything except your own food and drinks, because the little store is reay high priced, dining room table, couch, gas fireplace, balcony that looks out into the courtyard that would be a perfect place for the Summer Blues nights,...
Stayed in the annex. Super nice staff, very cool vibe. Was there for my cousin’s wedding so didn’t get to hang out at the little bar at all but will next time. Friends who were through-hiking the PCT highly recommended and they were right.
