Learn more about St. Charles
Wander cobblestone streets on historic Main Street, where gas lamps illuminate shops selling everything from handcrafted jewelry to homemade fudge. The Lewis and Clark Boathouse offers a fascinating glimpse into the explorers' journey that began right here in 1804. Pedal along the Katy Trail, where the former railroad track hugs the Missouri River with views that explain why those French-Canadian fur traders settled here in the first place. The restored buildings house restaurants where locals debate which has the best bread pudding (they're all correct). At the riverfront, watch barges navigate the same waters that launched America's westward expansion. History feels remarkably present here, as if those early pioneers might stroll around the corner at any moment.

Hollywood Casino & Hotel St. Louis
"Travelled to St Louis for a quick trip. Had an early flight and went straight to hotel to request an early check in. Upon arrival I requested a 2 hour early check in. The lady at the check in desk was rude and immediately shut me down. So, we gambled, ate lunch and waited. 2 hours before check-in, I noticed plotters were checking in and getting keys, so I approached a gentleman and asked him if I could also check in, which he did accommodate. Was grateful for him. So, my first impression was not the best."
Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa
"I'll tell you what. I visited the Ameristar for a fun weekend reunion with a long time college friend I hadn't seen in 30 years. We had plans to see the city, eat Italian on the Hill, go see the arch, see the city museum. But no...we left one time to go to a diner around the corner for breakfast and realized we had no desire to leave the hotel again. The food was amazing, the people (most likely regulars) were hilarious and fun. The pool was to die for. The bartenders at the pool were amazing and fun. We went to see the cover band at one of the bars on Saturday night and the place was PACKED. I think people were there just to go see them. Costumes, mullet wigs, 90's hair band...it was so fun. Will most DEFINITELY be back. Can't say enough good things. The rooms were HUGE and lovely. There were 17 pillows to choose from for your firmness desire (okay, maybe just 4 but still...). We had a blast."
Hampton Inn St. Charles St. Peters
"Clean and comfortable. There was some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom but I could overlook that because everything else was so nice."
Heritage Inn & Suites St. Louis/Fenton, Trademark by Wyndham
"Great stuff and comfy beds and the hot tub was the best we ever had from a hotel before. Close to good BBQ spots."
