This is a newer property in Unawatuna so I was hesitant. But this place was phenomenal. The room was so nice, very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay, including a small kitchen and even a washer. It's close enough to all the local attractions, but located just far enough away from the main road to be very quiet. Good restaurant options nearby, 24 hour pool, and 25 hour security. Wifi is fast and the AC works great. The only thing that would improve this place would be if breakfast...

Everything was great! The only thing I didn't love was the internet connection. It looks like they use 4G cellular modems with data limits instead of a cable or fiber network. I occasionally had to hold Teams meetings for work, and the connection would drop and never get back. However, this seems to be a common issue across Sri Lanka, not just at this hotel. Aside from that, everything else was absolutely perfect, especially the staff and the location!

The Villa Baywatch is in a unique location. It is steps away from the Peace Pagoda and just minutes away from Jungle Beach. This hill has a special legend attached to explain why the plants here are found no where else. My room was cheerful and comfortable. The meals are very good. You can get lunch at the beach, too. Ft Galle is close by with many things to see and do. I fell and broke my arm while visiting Ft Galle. The owner of Villa Baywatch made sure I went to the hospital and the tuk tuk...

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and they loved this hotel. Short 5 min walk to Ahungalla Beach. ~ 15 min tuk tuk ride to Galle Fort. ~ 10 min tuk tuk ride to a sea turtle hatchery. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and my kids (age 10, 9, 7 and 5) loved the pool and watching the monkeys jump by through the trees overhead. The food was great and the staff was super helpful and friendly.

It's a fabulous place. Beautiful rooms and the pool is fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, a bit fiddly with the coffee machine but no complaints. I was disappointed having arrived at 8.30pm that the 'all day dining' wasn't available. There wasn't any indication of the closing time on the website for evening meal. Had I known I would have eaten on the way. So perhaps make that clear on any booking in future.
