Had an awesome stay at the Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle! The hotel was really nice, comfortable, and a great place to stay while in San Diego. The front desk staff was especially great. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome from the moment we got there. Anytime we needed something, they were happy to help. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!

All was superb until 10:30 pm, when the new guests on the room above us checked in/arrived. Children running stomping and yelling into the wee hours. Just to wake us up again at 7 am. They didnt seemed to be supervised, maybe lack of. Just a suggestion, please put family with children on bottom rooms.

My husband and I went for a little weekend getaway and the hotel was lovely. We had an ocean view room with a big balcony. It was surprisingly quiet. You can walk everywhere, we left our car parked the whole time. The hotel staff is so friendly!!

Loved the location right on the beach. Staff is great and they have convenient parking. Just be aware it can be a little noisy on warm nights with nearby bar crowds.

Anniversary trip! Every year we look forward on what city we are going to visit for our golf anniversary trip. This year we decided on Carlsbad CA, at the hotel we were grated by (Manny) at the front desk, very friendly, accommodating and with such great service 100% thumbs up. Hotel property is a little under construction though once inside the rooms is all a wash. Our room was roomy, clean, great views and with all amenities needed when you’re away from home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and pampered. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, and the hotel's amenities were top-notch. We especially appreciated the attentiveness and kindness of Jessica, she was exceptional, so attentive and caring in making our stay not only comfortable but memorable as well.

I didn't think the prices to pay for breakfast or dinner were worth what we were given. It was just a bit too expensive for us.

I originally booked a non-refundable king room for my wife and I. I then found out my daughter was going to be in town so tried to switch it to a 2 double bed room. Expedia wanted to charge me for a whole new room. Went to the hotel and they changed my room with no problem. For this alone I give them 5 stars.

I've stayed here before, and really like the location, the friendliness, and reasonable rates. There is still no restaurant within the facility, but there is now a Starbucks "PickUp" here. I recommend the Hotel for anyone wishing to be near Balboa Park/Zoo, Gaslamp District, and/or Seaport Village.
