This property has been owned by the same family since 1865! They were very friendly and welcoming. There is also a restaurant on site that we dined at twice and it was delicious. They also had a typical German breakfast but also would make eggs cooked to order, which was nice. The room was very comfortable. The only thing that hat could be an issue is that there are loud church bells going off every 15 minutes. It didn’t bother us too much but if you are sensitive to noise it could be an issue....

The fact that the hotel used to be a prison makes it an interesting (I prefer not to use the word “fun”) place to stay. You can stay in a former cell or one of the larger rooms (such as the former doctor’s room) if traveling with another person. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean (we stayed there twice in two different rooms), and a nice breakfast buffet is available that is just the right size.
