"I stayed in a single room that was adequate for a one night stay. It was spotlessly clean and had a good bathroom. There were no drawers for clothes, and the hanging recess had space for 2 hangers and was blocked by the iron and ironing board. This makes it less attractive for a longer stay. I found the mattress too firm for my comfort and would recommend a topper. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was spot on."

"It’s a lovely 4 star hotel, but my room felt 3 star. It was comfortable, but a little tired. I was travelling solo and paid extra for a double room. It seems solo travellers are often slightly sidelined, and in this case my room was cosy but tucked out of the way next to the housekeeping store. This meant that a lie-in wasn’t really possible as staff arrived for work next door at 6am so there were doors closing and creaky floorboards outside until around 8am. Fortunately, I was out early myself most days, but this might be worth bearing in mind. My room was a little dusty and the curtains were fixed in place. I had to ask for them to be adjusted as they wouldn’t fully close. There was also a non-working plug socket and a blown bulb. I can’t fault the staff who were all lovely and quickly happy to help, the food was great and the restaurant and bar had a good atmosphere. I’d be happy to return, but I’d ask for a different room next time."
