I love this place. Location was a little hard to see but once you found it easy to get back to it. The host was lovely very informative. Made reservations for dinner explained they eat late. Room was lovely, updated, clean, cozy, modern with a flair for French of old. Need new TV's that you can connect to Prime video and also Netflix so people from other country who need a different language. I would recommend !!!

The stay at Hostellerie Sarrasine was more than lovely. The grounds are well kept and beautifully tended. The room was traditional and had modern technology. The best part was the food and service. The Famille Bévy had the most delicious French food; their cook incredible. The Bresse chicken is a must. The wine options phenomenal. The Famille Bévy were accommodating and so very warm to us. Would highly recommend this place for any looking to warm the soul.

The hotel has changed hands since the last time we stayed but the atmosphere remains. A bit quaint and we did have a room overlooking the river. Quite nice. Rooms are small but adequate. Breakfast is extra and just minimal with coffee and croissants. Front staff was very chatty and friendly. It is about 2 or 3 blocks to reach restaurants and we tried two different ones and both were quite good.

The hosts are a young couple from Belgium who truly love their chateau and enjoy sharing it with others. Check-in staff was very kind. This was clearly a "3-star hotel", though everything was clean and what I needed for a 1-night stay. Very close to the pedestrian "downtown". <15 min walk to the train station and the big theatre. So a good choice. Critical points: my room was small and 2 people would have been pretty cramped in the room. I found it expensive for what it was and I expected more for the price compared with other hotels in small french cities. Maybe Chalon-sur-Saône is an expensive...
