Hotel Tappi is an outstanding place to stay to relax and enjoy the scenic view of the ocean bay. Superb food choice for dinner. The Japanese onsen was great and relaxing for a stress-free stay. My family and I plan on coming again next year to stay and enjoy the surrounding area.
"Ekimae" means in front of the train station and it is! Walk right out the station and there's your hotel. Our room had a view of the station and the famous bridge. One blockfrom A-Market (good food, excellent view), the Nebuta Museum (muse see) and walking distance to most downtown locations. Easy transfer from Aomori Station to Shin-Aomori where you catch the Shinkansen (bullet train) back to Tokyo.
Room and amenities were lovely. I didn’t get to take advantage of the onsen but it looked really nice. Bathroom especially was so pristine and great smelling products. My only suggestion would be to make the stairs available for people to come up and down because the elevator can be very slow.
The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was excellent and full of variety, the laundry access and on-site parking convenient, and the rooftop onsen and massage chairs were a pleasure to use. Rooms cleaned everyday. On our first day, I did change out the loungewear provided in the room for a new set that fit better and was clean, as the set provided in the closet seemed like it may have been used very recently!? Still, I highly recommend dormy inn Aomori.
Aomori is a nice small city. Hotel is about 2 blocks from waterfront which has nice boardwalk and sculptures. The Nebuta Museum is a few blocks away and is great. There are several good art museums in area. Top notch! Hotel about 6 blocks from JR station. Directly across from a convenience store. A number of restaurants within several blocks.
