While it doesn’t boast the polish of a newer hotel, it checks the box on every comfort including AC, a beautiful upstairs sitting room full of historical photos and antiques as well as a lovely garden terrace to take one’s meals. "Very nicely welcomed, stayed in room 101, a small suite in the heritage building and everything at 5 star level. Food and drinks was good and serving far above normal Indian level. Only small complaint is that every time we got into our room in the afternoon to take a shower -just after having taking off the clothes off - someone rang the doorbell and asked if we were nereding anything. Chreck-out again smoothly and professionel. Definitely a place we will like to stay next time in Kolkota. "

"While convenient for access to the city, the immediate area is not particularly pleasant. However, the hotel, while it provides all that is needed, is a little 'tired' as to its decor. But, the in-house 'pure veg' restaurant and bar is excellent, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are charming, friendly and efficient. It may not be 5* but gets an A from me. "
