"The Homestead, a beautiful B&B with great character. Sits in Melling about 5 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The hosts Kevin snd Maria, couldn't do enough to make our stay as memorable as possible. Kevin dropped us and picked us up from one of the local pubs, that we had booked in for ouf evening meal. Whilst Maria cooked wonderful breakfasts. Definitely worth a visit, we are looking to book again."

"We really enjoyed our time here! No stay is perfect, so it took a visit from the manager to get the heating working, but after that it was a cosy room and a welcoming hotel after a day's walking and sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and professional, and they were all happy to engage with the guests. Kirkby is a lovely little town, with a delightful river walk and some little alleyways and old houses. We had a room at tge front so woke each morning to views of the hills of the Dales...

"5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. "

"A fabulous find, a short distance from family, perfect for the grandchildren, when the arrived they said it was magical when the saw the marina, they loved walking our dogs down the canal towpath and the crazy golf across the road at the farm park, plenty of places to visit around the area and a lovely place to relax in, a lovely pub with great food next door, there’s a few issues with teal house but nothing that would put us off , we will definitely be back in the near future "
