"This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. No stay is perfect, so it took a visit from the manager to get the heating working, but after that it was a cosy room and a welcoming hotel after a day's walking and sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and professional, and they were all happy to engage with the guests. Kirkby is a lovely little town, with a delightful river walk and some little alleyways and old houses. "The property is in a poor state of repair but the bed was comfy, the shower was warm, the breakfast was nice and the lady was friendly. Kirkby Lonsdale was a nice town in a beautiful area and the Ingleton Waterfalls trail nearby was breathtaking."
