I recently stayed at Hotel Adler in Rudolstadt and was impressed by its unbeatable location—right in the city center, just steps from the main square, the train station, and the stunning baroque Heidecksburg Castle. The hotel is beautiful and very convenient. We asked for an upgrade to a larger room and received it for a surcharge. We loved the hotel. Parking was a little inconvenient--about a block away for a charge of 8.50 per 24 hrs. Good internet connection. Nice breakfast, but somewhat pricey (not included). Minor annoyance: at checkout the credit card machine wasn't working and we had to pay in cash. That meant going and finding an ATM and returning to pay.
The property is nice with children to walk around, play and see animals. Unfortunately when we were there the SPA and Sauna were closed. It will be nice if the property posts the operation hours for sauna and SPA. There is also a small museum of tractors on side. You need to ask at the reception for them to open the door.
