My family loved this ancient chateau (medieval, with 17th and 18th century additions). The location was perfect, next to a little village with medieval church, artisanal bakery, and general grocery store for picnic supplies. Our room was huge, with a view over the moat, modernized bathroom, and even a small maid's room tucked up a tiny staircase. The breakfast in the main chateau was great, with local cheeses, jams, etc, and the dinner in the Orangerie was an experience worthy of a Michelin star...

Check in was a bit weird as there wasn’t anyone at the main entrance/desk/lobby so I called hotels.com to get me in touch with someone from the property. A young girl came out to give us the key.
