Black Beach Guesthouse

"This hotel looks brand new. Our room was modern and clean. It is located in an industrial area and there is a gas station next door. None of that mattered to us because the location for our itinerary was perfect and it was inexpensive. Of our 8 hotels, it had the largest bathroom and a fridge. Its a very short drive to the lava sea cliffs and some sea lion watching. There are also a lot of restaurants very near by, some walking distance. I would absolutely stay there again."

"We had a room with a private bath. It was excellent. The staff were very friendly. They provided free tea and coffee. They also had a tray with fantastic oatmeal cookies that were homemade. They didn't have an ice machine but the restaurant provided us ice twice upon our request. We decided to eat dinner there since the lodging was out a bit in the countryside. We went with the barbecued chicken wings and pizza and they were very good."

"I am a photographer who travels the world, and this was my 20th trip to Iceland. I have stayed at the Kvika many times, and when available I will always return. This is a basic, no-frills hotel with the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. I have used this hotel as a “base of operations” many times. Conveniently located for rides to Reykjavík, the Golden Circle, the South Coast, Snaefellsness, and a longer day-trip to Diamond Beach. The staff is great, and the gentleman at the desk in the evening, Hawk, is extremely helpful. They are adding on another hotel next door. I cannot wait to stay in their additional property once it opens."
